Diamondbacks linked to trade with 4.45 ERA All-Star starter they should've dealt last year

Gallen was a name to watch at the trade deadline last year, and while they likely wouldn't have gotten an incredibly strong return, they might've been able to fetch some decent value.

They're in a similar boat this season, with the only difference being that he's a year older and is pitching better than he did at last year's deadline.

While there is debate over whether they should've traded him last year like they did with Merrill Kelly, this year the D-Backs should actually trade their All-Star veteran.

Gallen is 30 years old and has a 4.45 ERA this season across seven starts. The Diamondbacks would surely have teams willing to spend a little bit to acquire a pitcher with the experience and career numbers of Gallen.

Even though he's not been great the last two seasons, he is still a solid starter who can eat some innings for a new team.

Of course, the D-Backs shouldn't move on from Gallen if they're in contention for a postseason spot. But, if they don't come by the August 3rd trade deadline, there should be no question of whether Gallen should be dealt or not.
