Milan reportedly wants to sign Arsenal's Gabriel Jesus for next season.
The Houston Texans selected Michigan tight end Marlin Klein at pick No. 59, despite concerns about his draft value. General manager Nick Caserio appeared focused on securing Klein without trading back for additional picks.
While fans are excited to see what Michigan tight end Marlin Klein can do for the Houston Texans' offense in 2026, some pondered why the franchise would reach for a tight end at pick No. 59.
Klein, a 6-foot-6 German-born product from Ann Arbor, fits the mold of what second-year offensive coordinator Nick Caley wants for his personnel. Houston entered the offseason with plans on upgrading the position in both the pass-catching and run-blocking departments after underwhelming results from names outside of Dalton Schultz the past two seasons.
But as a 23-year-old with raw skills and little receiving production, Klein wasn't viewed as a Round 2 pick. In fact, the consensus draft boards had him landing somewhere on Day 3, likely near the start of the fifth round.
So, did the Texans ever explore trade-back options to get more bang for their selection? Actually, general manager Nick Caserio seemed locked into trying to have his player while gaining a pick in the process.
According to the Houston Chronicle's Jonathan M. Alexander, Houston tried to move back into Round 3 and pick up an extra Day 3 pick. The rumor was that Tennessee and Cleveland, who selected at No. 67 and No. 70, were trying to move up and had spoken to the Texans.
The Texans drafted Marlin Klein to upgrade their tight end position, aiming for improved pass-catching and run-blocking capabilities.

Caserio confirmed on Friday night that several deals were in motion, but by the time Houston was set to pick, the deals had fallen through.
"The Browns found a better deal with the 49ers, who traded picks No. 57 and No. 152 for No. 70 and No. 107," Alexander wrote. "And the Titans found another willing trade partner in the Bears, who traded No. 60 for No. 67 and No. 144. "
Per the report, the Texans viewed Klein as the top tight end target on Day 2. While raw, he fits the mold of Caley's play style and hits reset on the position behind Schultz and newcomer Foster Moreau.
“He’s the type of player that has the right mentality, the right mindset, good work ethic, really smart,” Caserio said. “Good football player who we visited with at the combine. …We liked him from the beginning of the process until drafting him, which is why we picked him.”
Over his four seasons with the Wolverines, Klein totaled 38 catches for 364 yards and a touchdown. In the Cheez-It Bowl vs. Texas, he finished with four catches for 38 yards.
The Texans begin rookie minicamp next Thursday.
