Celtic suffered a disappointing 2-1 league defeat at home to Hearts, a result that leaves Grant Scottâs side fifth in the table with two fixtures remaining.
It was the visitors who started the game on the front foot, although Poppy Pritchardâs pace was causing the Hearts defence some problems whenever Celtic tried to capitalise on that.
It was the Hoops who looked to create an opportunity on 13 minutes when Evie Rabjohn tried to set up Saoirse Noonan, but the danger was cleared, and just 60 seconds later, Hearts took the lead.
The ball was played over the top of the Celtic defence and Georgia Timms latched on to the ball and slotted the ball into the net to make it 1-0 to Hearts.
Celtic looked to respond, and Rabjohn came close with a header on 21 minutes from a Pritchard cross, but her effort went narrowly wide.
At the other end, Lisa Rodgers denied Timms her second goal of the game with a good save.
However, just before the half-hour mark, Celtic did get back on level terms from the penalty spot.
Lisa Robertson was fouled inside the area, and it was Saoirse Noonan who stepped up and converted the spot-kick to make it 1-1.
But just three minutes before the break, the visitors restored their lead when Lauren Wade fired the ball home to make it 2-1.
In the early stages of the second-half, Grant Scottâs side pushed forward in search of an equaliser, although they werenât able to carve out any clearcut chances.
And at the other end, they had the crossbar to thank when Carly Johnsâ shot crashed off the bar, with the rebound effort from Timms going wide.
The Hoops continued to search for a way back into the game, with Rabjohn looking dangerous, but the visitorsâ defence held firm and saw out the game to take another step to what would be their first league title.
