Here are this week's Girls Athlete of the Week candidates:
Kendyl Bonkowski, Millersport softball: Broke the school career strikeout record of 620. She has 652 now. She also broke her own record of single-season strikeouts (217) and has 222.
Gabriella Duguid, Upper Arlington softball: Went 3-0 with 23 strikeouts and a 1.30 ERA. She finished the week with a complete game shutout against Delaware Hayes, striking out nine.
Raegan Fowler, Pickerington Central lacrosse: In two games, had 10 goals, 11 assists and four ground balls. In an 18-7 win over Pickerington North, she had five goals, seven assists, 12 points (tying the school record for points in a game), and three ground balls. In a 15-7 win over Beavercreek, she had five goals, four assists, 9 points, and one ground ball. This season she has broken two school records (career assists, season assists) and tied two others (assists in a game, points in a game).
Ellie King, Upper Arlington lacrosse: Had seven goals, three assists and eight draw controls in a 16-5 win over Medina. In three games, all wins, she had 11 goals and 14 draw controls.
Lexi Latier, Westerville Central softball: Went 12 for 20 with seven doubles and 11 RBIs in five games, all of which the Warhawks won.
Micah and Avery Mann, Teays Valley softball: In five games in which the team 4-1, they had a combined batting average of .676 with 22 RBIs and 21 runs scored
Hannah McAllister, Delaware softball: Struck out 25 and allowed three runs and nine hits in two games, a 2-1 win over Dublin Scioto and 2-0 loss to Upper Arlington.
