St. John earned the win on a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth when Landon Daigle was hit by a pitch at bat, which brought home Tyler Edwards for the game-winning run.
Edwards reached base on a single grounder to center after Tripp Romero got a free pass to first on a walk.
Relief pitcher Gavin Hebert walked the first ACHS batter in the top of the seventh but sent back the next two off pop-ups.
He struck out James Gomez to end the game and give the War Eagles district titles in baseball and softball.
Hebert struck out three Bulldogs and Edwards sent back one.
Ascension Catholic took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, but War Eagle center fielder Daniel Braudās homer tied the game in the bottom of the second.
The Eagles stretched the lead in the third when Romero scored on a Jacob Berthelot single to third.
Gallagher scored later in the inning on a baes-loaded walk, while Carson Doyle scored after an error at third.
ACHS took a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth off a Christopher Athens double to center field. The Bulldogs stretched it one run on an RBI off a Vaughn Blanchard double.
