They already have All-Stars, MVPS, and guys who can hit 30 to 40 home runs like it's nothing. That includes third baseman Max Muncy, who might benefit from having a platoon partner at third base.
FanSided's Zachary Rotman proposes the Dodgers give the Houston Astros a call. One of their veteran infielders was involved in trade rumors throughout the offseason.
"If you didn't like the first Astros-Dodgers mock trade, perhaps this one will make more sense," Rotman wrote Sunday.
"The Dodgers don't need Isaac Paredes, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't be an interesting fit. Paredes crushes left-handed pitching, as his career .804 OPS against southpaws would suggest, making him an ideal platoon partner with Max Muncy at the hot corner, and he can play three of the four infield positions, allowing him to give Freddie Freeman and Tommy Edman off-days at first base and second base, respectively," Rotman added. "He'd be a luxury, and one the Dodgers can easily afford."

With Carlos Correa at third base and Christian Walker at first, the Astros have a logjam in the infield. In Rotman's trade proposal, Houston receives utility man Alex Freeland and the Dodgers' No. 19-ranked prospect on MLB Pipeline, outfielder/first baseman Ryan Ward.
Would this trade make the Dodgers unbeatable? Certainly not, but Paredes is no slouch and hit a career high of 31 home runs in 2023 with the Tampa Bay Rays.
The specific All-Star third baseman involved in the mock trade is not named in the proposal.
