Who could end up being trade candidates around the league this summer ahead of the 2026 Major League Baseball trade deadline?
It's been a fun season so far and we haven't even gotten to the part where big moves start being made. It's still early. It's May 6, as of writing. We've seen over one full month of action and there have been some surprises, like the struggling Houston Astros and the red-hot St. Louis Cardinals. Soon enough, we'll start to see moves being made around the league.
One team that all fans around the league should have their eyes on is the Los Angeles Dodgers. What are they going to do next? The Dodgers are the two-time reigning World Series champions but that hasn't stopped them from moving pieces if they believed it would lead to some sort of solid return. It'll be interesting to see how the Dodgers handle this deadline as they look to win their third straight title.
Bleacher Report'sKerry Miller tabbed outfielder Alec Call as the "most likely" guy who could be on the move.
"Los Angeles Dodgers: OF Alex Call," Miller wrote. "Contract: $1.6M, three years of arbitration eligibility. They just traded for him at last year's deadline and he has given them a .759 OPS when they have deployed him. (Plus an .897 OPS during the 2025 postseason.) But he's barely playing, even with Mookie Betts, and all on the IL, so he may well get squeezed off the 26-man roster if they ever get to full strength. Could probably swap Call for a decent reliever or prospect, though."
The article suggests that a Dodgers outfielder may be among the trade candidates as the 2026 deadline approaches.

Call is batting .324 on the season in 16 games played. If the Dodgers make him available, surely an outfied-needy team will be interested.
