Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages was questioned a ton about a year ago.
There were times when Pages was expected to be one of the better young players in baseball, and he simply couldn't get anything going. Offensively speaking, he was very average, to say the least.
Fast forward to a few months later last season, and Pages is one of the most important players on the Dodgers roster, and continues to be to this day.
Remember now, if it weren't for that catch he made in Game 7 of the World Series, things would be a lot different in Los Angeles than they are now.
The 25-year-old has sneakily been one of the more important players on this roster, and with everybody else on the team pretty much being paid, it's only fair to say that the Cuban native will be the next one to get his big payday.
A former MLB general manager and top MLB insider believes they should try to do so now, hoping to ink him to a long-term deal.
“Pages had a solid sophomore season, but he struggled in the postseason and was benched in the World Series because of his difficulties picking up spin. He then spent the offseason hitting off a Trajekt machine, particularly focusing on hitting against a simulation of Paul Skenes and his velocity, shapes and sizes. The results of that hard work have shown up early in the season, as he’s off to a very fast start, hitting the ball harder and working the count better than he did in 2025. The Dodgers should try to ink him now to a long-term deal,” Jim Bowden of The Athletic wrote.

Given his breakout performance, there is speculation that Andy Pages could be in line for a significant contract extension in the near future.

Giving Pages a deal right now would make a lot of sense from the Dodgers' perspective, considering he doesn't have free agency until 2031.
If they can buy out the first years of his free agency with a deal that makes sense for both sides, keeping a young player around who has produced at this level would be a very wise decision.
