Dolphins hosting first-round wide receiver ahead of 2026 NFL Draft

The Miami Dolphins are busy scheduling and conducting top-30 visits ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft — and on Monday, one of the class’ best pass catchers is in Miami Gardens visiting with the organization’s brass.

Makai Lemon of Southern California is meeting with Miami today — just ten days before the first round of this year’s selection process is set to start. Lemon — 5’11’ and 192 lb — would give the Dolphins’ wide receiver room a much needed boost following the departures of Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle earlier this offseason.

Here’s what Lance Zierlein of the NFL’s official website had to say regarding Lemon:

“High-skill, high-volume slot receiver with average size but extraordinary ball skills. Lemon has room for refinement, but not much. He’s intelligent, confident and polished with the ability to make plays on all three levels. Tempo-driven route-runner who misdirects man coverage and separates out of turns but is fairly average after the catch. Quicker than fast, featuring early acceleration to open seam throws but flashes late burst when needed. More play strength is needed for NFL press and he needs to avoid rushing through multi-breaking routes. He’s an exceptional ball-tracker with excellent catch timing and few focus drops. He wins more combat catches than he loses. Lemon is a plug-and-play, quarterback-friendly talent with first-round value and Pro Bowl upside.”

In addition to the praise Zierlein gave Lemon in his overview, he compared the wide receiver to Detroit Lions’ star, Amon-Ra St. Brown.

With the Dolphins holding both picks #11 and #30 in the 2026 NFL Draft, it will be a busy Thursday night for the franchise come April 23rd. We’ll see how sweet — or sour — Miami is on Lemon once the selection process officially kicks off then.
