Miami Dolphins lineman Aaron Brewer emphasizes his aggressive playing style, stating he aims to 'knock somebody's head off' on the field. This mentality aligns with the team's new direction under general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley.
Under the leadership of new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley, the Miami Dolphins turned over a large portion of their roster this offseason after the team went 7-10 and finished in third place in the AFC East in 2025.
However, there are still a few players left that the Dolphins want to build around going forward, including center Aaron Brewer, who is entering the final year of his three-year, $21 million deal that he signed in 2024.
What is it about Brewer that the new regime seems to love? It could be the physicality he plays with, and during an interview with NFL insider Ari Meirov, the 28-year-old described his attitude while playing football perfectly.
"It's the mentality too. You don't see too many people finishing plays, how I finish [them], going through the whistle, the little shove at the end. I'm running full speed downfield. I play with bad intentions," Brewer said. "I'm really trying to go get somebody out there, trying to knock somebody's head off. It's that and just honing in like techniques. I understand both sides of theĀ ball, I understand where people are supposed to be, I understand where a linebacker is supposed to fit,Ā understand where safety is supposed to fit. Understanding that, I just understand I can just go. I know exactly where you're supposed to be, so I'm running full speed.Ā I'm athletic, I'm going to get there before you get there, I know where you're trying to get to,Ā so if you're not there, I'm going to be there."
Miami needs talented players to be building blocks for their future, and they want to be Brewer to be one of them. They need to make sure they lock him down, or he could bring that mentality elsewhere.
