DORAL — Donald Trump arrived at the Cadillac Championship about 30 minutes after the leaders teed off, being escorted out of the hotel at Trump National Doral and into the Trump Suite on the 18th green.
The president was accompanied by his granddaughter, Kai Trump, the former Benjamin School golfer who will join the University of Miami golf team.
Trump made the walk from the hotel to his suite mostly in silence with very few fans in the area. After a smattering of cheers as he approached the suite, he had to turn and waive his hands at the top of the stairs before any other cheers.
The tournament has been sparsely attended, a combination of being late in the season for a golf event to be in South Florida and the weather.

Trump pushed up his schedule ahead by several hours, much like the tournament did, because of weather. He was scheduled to arrive at the tournament at 3 p.m. and head back to Washington D.C. from Miami on Air Force One in the evening.
With his flight time changed to 2 p.m., he arrived to watch some golf about 12:15 p.m. Patrick Rodgers, Jason Day and Maverick McNealy were on No. 18 when he arrived.
