Teammates like Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen are excellent partners for their backcourt teammates. However, they have lost the ball at times because of some errant passes from the guards. Mitchell knows this, which is why he had a quick answer to Charles Barkley on Inside the NBA.
"We definitely do. I'm not making any excuses; we have to be better. A lot of it, too, is when you have a guy like James, you have to figure out the positions. Some of it is on him, and some of it is on me, too," Mitchell said candidly to a question about the Cavs' turnovers.
"Figure out where we are... For example, in Game 2, he had a crucial turnover late, but that's because I wasn't stepping into the corner. You get what I'm saying? Making it easy for each other, but the guys on the ball have to make the right play."
