The Seattle Seahawks just won Super Bowl 60 and have a fantastic roster coming out of the 2026 NFL Draft. They took a ton of talented players to help fill the holes of some departing veterans.
Their pre-draft process wound up working out nicely, as they found prospects they could trust with their limited supply of picks. But not all of their pre-draft visits went well.
According to Brady Henderson of ESPN, Seahawks general manager John Schneider revealed a wild story that one prospect accidentally complained about their pre-draft meeting with Seattle running to long right to Schneider's face.
"Schneider told a story about one player who openly bemoaned that his time at Seahawks headquarters had run longer than scheduled," Henderson writes. "Having apparently not done much homework on the organization, he thought he was complaining to a staffer. He had no idea it was actually the general manager."
The Seahawks view these pre-draft visits as a great opportunity to meet prospects in-person, and the successful meeting with Bud Clark, whom they took with the 64th pick in the draft, was proof of those meetings bearing fruit.

The Seahawks successfully filled roster gaps with talented players during the 2026 NFL Draft.
Not all pre-draft visits went smoothly, as evidenced by the complaint from a prospect about the visit duration.

But, in this case, the Seahawks were able to cross a player off their list of possible options in the draft, as they not only were disrespectful, but didn't do enough research to know who the general manager of the team he's visiting was.
Even if it wasn't to Schneider himself, this was still a bad decision from this anonymous prospect. But his complaint going directly to the GM is about as bad as it can get.
As Henderson noted, "There were no turnoffs when the Seahawks brought in Clark." Comparatively, this prospect was an instant turn-off for Seattle, as such a brutal interaction led to this prospect likely dropping off their board.
This might be an extreme example of a pre-draft visit going poorly, but it's a good example of how the Seahawks highly value their pre-draft visits.
Schneider is obviously hiding the identity of this player, but with a high evaluation of character and a player's fit with the organization's culture a priority, the player who had this unfortunate incident is almost certainly not on the Seahawks roster.
