Spoelstra: No need to penalize Ball any further

The Philadelphia Eagles are unlikely to trade Jalen Carter, even for superstar Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns. General Manager Howie Roseman is known for making bold trades, but moving Carter is not seen as necessary.

It's impossible to ever count out Howie Roseman regarding a potential blockbuster Philadelphia Eagles trade. Roseman has always proven that he'll do whatever it takes to improve his roster, and if that means going out and making a big-time trade for a star player, that's exactly what he'll do.
The Eagles are in a position to go out and add some very good players on either side of the ball if they want to get creative, though it isn't necessary. However, it was recently proposed for them to go out and trade for Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns. In this scenario, it was also brought up that they could potentially move on from Jalen Carter in the trade.
Eagles get: Garrett
Browns get: 2026 first-round pick (23rd), 2026 third-round pick (68th), 2027 first-round pick
“It would be one of the biggest blockbusters in years, considering Garrett has won two of the past three Defensive Player of the Year awards, just set the single-season sack record and is one year into a four-year, $160 million contract. Cleveland might not want to trade him, but what if the Eagles offered Jalen Carter as part of the package in return?
"Not crazy, considering Philly just signed defensive tackle Jordan Davis to a huge contract. But if the Eagles prefer to keep Carter, then offering the Maxx Crosby package (two first-round picks) and a bit more should be valuable to a rebuilding team like the Browns who might not be good again soon. That’s a problem since Garrett is already 30. But he would instantly give Philly the pass rush it needs to return to the top of the NFC,” Ralph Vacchiano of FOX wrote.
Don't get me wrong, if the Eagles had an opportunity to land a player of Garrett's caliber, I know for a fact that Roseman would be all over it and explore the avenue.
However, I have to put a hard stop on moving on from Carter, as he's just too young and too good to move on from.
Perhaps Garrett is the better player still at this point, but they're completely different players, and I'd rather see both of them on the defense than move on from a young man who has a chance to be one of the best defensive players in Eagles history.
The Eagles are exploring options to improve their roster, and Myles Garrett is viewed as a potential star addition.
In a proposed trade scenario, the Eagles would receive Myles Garrett in exchange for Jalen Carter.
