The Philadelphia Eagles are continuing to build out their 2026 roster, announcing the signing of eight undrafted free agents while also adding defensive lineman Joshua Weru through the NFLās International Player Pathway program.
Weru brings rare athletic traits to Philadelphia after reportedly running a 4.45 40-yard dash and posting a 41-inch vertical at the HBCU showcase. The 6-foot-4, 244-pound prospect trained with noted developer Javon Gopie ahead of the draft, adding to the intrigue surrounding his long-term upside.
Among the headline UDFA additions is former Alabama linebacker Deontae Lawson, a three-year starter, two-time All-SEC selection, and team captain who led the Crimson Tide with 89 tackles last season. Lawson arrives with the experience and instincts to compete immediately for a role.
The Eagles are also bringing in Ole Miss tight end DaeāQuan Wright, a highly productive pass catcher who totaled 635 yards and five touchdowns while leading all FBS tight ends in yards after catch per reception. His combination of size and playmaking ability could make him a sleeper addition.
In the secondary, Philadelphia adds Washington State defensive back Tucker Large, Ole Miss defensive back Kapena Gushiken, and Wofford All-American Maximus Pulley, all of whom bring experience and production at the collegiate level.
Special teams also received attention with the signing of Florida long snapper Rocco Underwood, widely regarded as one of the top specialists in the nation, while the class is rounded out by additional depth pieces, including Jaeden Roberts.
With a blend of high-upside athletes and decorated college performers, the Eaglesā UDFA group reflects a strategic approach to post-draft roster building, giving the coaching staff a wide range of talent to evaluate as offseason workouts and training camp approach.
