Schefter reported back in March that the Vikings were open to trading the Pro Bowl edge rusher because of a salary cap crunch.
āYeah, I expect him to be part of our team. I know thereās always conversations,ā head coach Kevin OāConnell said. āThereās conversations this week. Thereās conversations throughout the offseason, and weāll continue to kind of attack things at the different phases.ā
āBut at the same time, weāre always going to try to do whatās best for our team and also what we think is best for each one of our individual players. And thatās an ongoing thing throughout every offseason,ā OāConnell added.
The Vikings didnāt have a great cap situation going into free agency, and that issue remains with just $4.8 million to work with.
Minnesota not only needs more cap space to make moves the rest of the offseason, but to sign its draft class, also.
The Philadelphia Eaglesā edge rusher group is in rough shape and the team desperately needs to make a move.
Not only did Jaelan Phillips leave in free agency, the team isnāt certain to get Brandon Graham back.
Philly still has Jalyx Hunt, who tallied a team-high 6.5 sacks last season, but no other edge rusher currently under contract had more than three last season.
Greenard is coming off a down season in 2025, but he also struggled with injury. He should rebound with better health in 2026.
At his best, Greenard is a Pro-Bowl talent capable of racking up double-digit sacks and thereās no question he could provide exactly the upgrade the Eagles need.
