Early consensus rankings for the 2026 fantasy season highlight Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley as potential busts. Hurts' transition to a more passing-focused role and Barkley's inconsistent performance raise concerns for fantasy managers.
Fantasy expert consensus rankings (āECRā) are starting to pop up across the Internet, giving managers an early glimpse into how the market might value hundreds of players this summer. As we look ahead to the 2026 season, here are the biggest Eagles busts based on ECR.
What is Jalen Hurtsā career trajectory? Like most run-heavy quarterbacks, the clock is ticking on his fantasy greatness. Turning 28 in August, Hurts became more of a passer and less of a runner in 2025. True, he had a robust 105 carries for eight rushing TDs. But that followed three straight seasons with 150+ carries and 13+ rushing TDs.
As Hurts becomes more of a pocket passer (relatively speaking), his floor will continue dropping. The market isnāt prepared for this, as demonstrated by his QB6 ECR. Heās still viewed as an automatic weekly starter. But the strong possibility of losing A.J. Brown, combined with an aging Dallas Goedert, gives Hurts less room for error. He should still be viewed as a solid top-12 QB. But the top six looks increasingly like a long shot.
I did a lot of podcast episodes and wrote a lot of columns last summer explaining why -- based on historical data -- Saquon Barkley was a massive bust candidate. Even with a reduced RB10 ECR entering 2026, he remains a bust candidate. Despite frequently struggling last season, Barkley came on strong at the end, finishing as the RB15 in points per game. He also had 346 touches (including the playoffs) and remains slightly underutilized in the passing game compared to how he was used with the Giants.
To achieve top-10 numbers, he needs to be among the league leaders in touches and touchdowns. Itās doable, but not easily achievable for a 29-year-old with a long injury history and 800+ touches across the last two seasons.

Jalen Hurts is currently ranked as QB6 in early fantasy expert consensus rankings for 2026.
Saquon Barkley is viewed as a bust candidate due to his struggles last season and a reduced RB10 ECR, despite finishing as RB15 in points per game.
Losing A.J. Brown could significantly impact Jalen Hurts' fantasy value by reducing his offensive support, making it harder for him to maintain a top-six quarterback status.
