Madi Collins of Elkhart set a new school record in pole vault at 11-0 during the NIC meet. The Lions placed third overall with 117 points.
ELKHART — Elkhart's Madi Collins set a school-record in the pole vault Tuesday at the Northern Indiana Conference meet at Elkhart's Rice Field.
The Lions junior finished with a vault of 11-0, which broke the previous school-record she held, which was 10-9.
Elkhart also got first place finishes from Rosell Robles (400), Rylee Drummond (high jump) and Brynlee Jellison (shot put).
The Lions finished the third at the meet with 117 points. Penn was the champion with a 149 total, while South Bend Adams was the runner-up with a 125.5 score.
Penn's Lila Van Hoveln was an individual champion in two events, with those being the 1,600 and 3,200.
The other individual winner for the Kingsmen was Arianna Balinnang (800).
Penn also got first place showings from its 1,600 relay and 3,200 relay. On the 1,600 were Kami Bauer, Quinn Driscoll, Aubrey Pfeiffer and Zoya Turka. Members of the 3,200 were Balinnang, Gabby Smith, Riley Holland and Shreya Nayee.
