The Buffalo Bills have faded quietly into the background after their trade for DJ Moore, and for a team that is on the Super Bowl hot seat with a first-time head coach, that is where they want to be.
As the draft edges ever closer, what the Bills will do in the first-round with their No. 26 pick is unknown, as there doesn't seem to be the chance that the Bills will get the proper difference-maker it wants.
Of course, the team could trade up, but that would require more draft capital, and with the defensive needs glaring, Buffalo likely won't do so.
So, for ESPN's Ben Solak, his "bottom line" for Buffalo is rather simple.
"Have to move back," Solak wrote. "There are depth needs everywhere, but the biggest ones are at linebacker, cornerback and wide receiver."

That would appear to be a good strategy for Beane and the front office, and in the first-round, if the Bills don't trade back to acquire more draft capital, then defense, and possibly an edge, should be the play.
Receiver is still a lurking problem, even with the addition of Moore, but it is hardly the blinking light on Buffalo's dashboard right now. If someone falls to the Bills in the later rounds, sure, but premier draft capital won't likely be used on a receiver.
That leaves defense, at least for the first couple of draft selections (No. 26, No. 91), to address needs for new coordinator Jim Leonhard.
Luckily, the Bills need depth pieces, not genuine starters, which likely helps a franchise that only has two picks inside the top 100.
ESPN recommends that the Buffalo Bills focus on addressing their defensive needs during the NFL Draft.
The Bills might consider trading up to secure a higher pick, but they would need additional draft capital to do so.
The No. 26 pick is crucial for the Bills as they seek a difference-maker to enhance their chances of success in the upcoming season.
