Auburn football in the mix for 2027 wide receiver Anthony Jennings
Auburn football is in the running for 2027 WR Anthony Jennings from Florida.
The Detroit Lions are projected to trade up to the 13th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to secure a top offensive tackle, according to ESPN's Peter Schrager. They currently hold the 17th overall selection.
The Detroit Lions are slated to make their first selection at No. 17 overall in the 2026 NFL Draft's first round come Thursday night.
But, can the Lions wait that long to get their guy? Detroit is expected to be looking for an offensive tackle, and experts are forecasting a run on offensive linemen in the draft's opening round.
If that's indeed set to be the case, Lions general manager Brad Holmes might feel the urgency to move up the draft board in order to secure one of the top offensive tackles on its board.
ESPN's Peter Schrager released his final NFL mock draft and he forecasts Holmes and the Lions making a move with the Rams to jump up to pick No. 13.
In Schrager's projected trade, the Lions would deal picks No. 17 and No. 118 (fourth round) and a 2027 second-round pick to obtain pick No. 13.
With the move up the board, the Lions are forecasted by Schrager to draft Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor.
Taylor Decker was released, and Proctor is still sitting there. So, general manager Brad Holmes might call up his old team and see if the Rams are open for business. Proctor would be a huge presence (6-foot-7, 352 pounds) at left tackle for Jared Goff and the Detroit offense, and taking a left tackle would mean could stay on the right side. -
The Lions are looking to secure a top offensive tackle and anticipate a run on offensive linemen early in the draft.
The Lions currently hold the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Lions are forecasted to make a trade with the Los Angeles Rams to move up to the 13th pick.

Throwing in the 2027 second-rounder along with this year's fourth-round selection feels like quite a bit to give up to move up four slots, but that could be the cost of doing business. With teams expected to make a run on offensive tackles, Holmes and the Lions could very well be involved in a draft-night trade.
