With the 2026 NFL draft near, let's dive into the current state of the Jacksonville Jaguars' depth chart on offense.
What we see today will not be exactly what the roster looks like come training camp. With the Jaguars having 11 draft picks, along with undrafted free agency still to take place, there is quite a bit of roster maneuvering that has yet to happen.
We also can't rule out James Gladstone making a veteran free agent addition after the NFL draft, just as he did last year.
But what this exercise does prior to the draft is highlight where some of the Jaguars' more pressing roster needs may lie.
Not a pressing need by any means, but perhaps the Jaguars make a late Day 3 addition or sign an undrafted rookie to compete with Bradley.
The Jaguars could be content with the current construction of their room. There are five running backs under contract, giving them depth on the training camp roster. Chris Rodriguez and Bhayshul Tuten could share the workload out of the backfield in-season, while LeQuint Allen continues to see snaps during more obvious passing downs. That said, with 11 draft picks, Jacksonville does have the flexibility to continue adding here, while still addressing more high-priority needs.
Although the Jaguars are positioned well at the top of the wide receiver depth chart with Brian Thomas Jr., Jakobi Meyers, Parker Washington, and Travis Hunter, depth and competition on the back end are still very much a need. As of now, the other wideouts on the roster are Austin Trammell, Tim Jones, and Chandler Brayboy. Jacksonville's pursuit of Jake Bobo tells us that Gladstone isn't done adding here -- although spending a premium pick at wideout isn't required.
One NFL draft analyst mentioned tight end as a position that the Jaguars could target on Day 2. While Jacksonville is set up well here for 2026, the draft is about planning ahead, and as of now, Strange, Morris, and Long are all free agents in 2027 -- although Strange is expected to return. An addition here could either compete with Long for the TE3 role or take on more of a developmental role in Year 1.
The Jaguars had no roster turnover along the offensive line this offseason. However, for a team that stresses competition up front, I can't rule out an addition here either, as Jacksonville looks to be more effective in the run game this season. Also, looking ahead to 2027, Jacksonville could move on at that point from Little, Mekari, and/or Hainsey by getting out of their contracts with a good amount of salary cap savings, while Edoga will be a free agent.
