It's been nearly two years since Kyle Schwarber last played at Fenway Park. However, not much has changed for him since June 2024.
He's still a member of the Philadelphia Phillies after signing a big contract extension with them over the winter. He's considerably richer now, at least, in the first season of his five-year, $150 million deal.
The 33-year-old DH is also still one of the best power hitters in baseball. After smashing five home runs over his last four games, MLB's homer leader enters Tuesday's series opener against the Boston Red Sox with 16 long balls -- a 63-homer pace.

The Red Sox had another chance to sign Schwarber last offseason, but gave a different Philadelphia star, Ranger Suarez, a similar contract. Suarez has been terrific for them, but that money probably would have been better spent on a middle-of-the-order bat like Schwarber given the team's offensive struggles and lack of power this year.
The former Phillies teammates are scheduled to face each other in the series finale on Thursday. Schwarber is 0-for-5 lifetime against Suarez.
Schwarber loves hitting at Fenway, though, batting .344/.478/.644 with six homers and nine doubles in 26 career games there. He'll try to add to those numbers against a Boston pitching staff that's allowed the eighth-most home runs in baseball this year.
