Younghoe Koo's NFL falloff has happened quickly.
This week, the former Atlanta Falcons and New York Giants kicker is in rookie minicamp with the New Orleans Saints, just trying to prove somehow that he deserves a job.
For kickers, rookie minicamp isn't quite the same -- kicking is kicking regardless of the stage, and Koo is just trying to get his leg in front of coaches in hopes of winning a job somewhere.

Koo was cut twice during the 2025 season.
The Falcons cut him after Week 2, and then the Giants did it late in the regular season.
He missed an early game-winner with Atlanta, which after a bumpy 2024 season led to them parting ways.
Younghoe Koo's departure from the Atlanta Falcons was due to a decline in his performance, leading him to seek opportunities with other teams.
Younghoe Koo is currently trying out for the New Orleans Saints during their rookie minicamp.

In his last game with the Giants, Koo missed two field goals from beyond 50 yards, and that led New York to move on in a season when they tried a bunch of different kickers just to get through the year.
It doesn't seem like Koo has a real chance to win a job with the Saints. They uncovered Charlie Smyth last year, and his big right leg seems safe.
The Saints also brought in undrafted rookie Mason Shipley from Texas.
At this point, Koo has officially entered the journeyman stage of his kicking career. Many kickers reach this point, but they don't always find clean landing spots again. It remains to be seen what might happen with Koo next.
