The Atlanta Falcons have signed their final two 2026 NFL Draft picks, cornerback Avieon Terrell and defensive tackle Anterio Thompson, to rookie contracts. This completes their draft class ahead of the upcoming season.
The Atlanta Falcons are getting their last ducks in a row before their 2026 schedule is released.
The team just announced that they have signed the last two un-signed members of their 2026 NFL Draft class. Former Clemson cornerback Avieon Terrell (No. 48 overall) and ex-Washington defensive tackle Anterio Thompson (No. 208 overall) are now officially on board.
The rest of the class - Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch, Oklahoma linebacker Kendal Daniels, LSU linebacker Harold Perkins Jr. and Ohio State offensive tackle Ethan Onianwa were all previously signed.
Despite impressive college numbers, Terrell has been a somewhat divisive pick, with supporters lauding his physicality and tenacity and critics pointing out his lack of size/speed for an NFL cornerback. Nevertheless, Terrell should be able to carve out a role as Jeff Ulbrich's starting slot defender no later than Week 9.
As a sixth-rounder, Thompson has relatively flown under radar, with Terrell and Branch taking up the vast majority of the media's attention after the draft. Defensive tackle was arguably Atlanta's weakest position group going into the draft, though - so Thompson doesn't have a lot of road blocks in-between him and serious playing time.
