GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) – The players and coaches aren’t the only ones excited about the Green Bay Packers schedule getting released on Thursday evening.
Fans were refreshing their phones all day to keep up with the matchups that leaked ahead of the official release at 7 p.m. When the full schedule officially came out on Thursday evening, fans told Local 5 News they liked what they saw.
“I was really impressed and happy with the schedule the way it came out, because I really think we wanted the end of the season to (have a lot of) home games and we have four out of five at the end of the year as home games,” Packers fan Patrick Boomer said.
Boomer also pointed out that the first month of the season (away against Minnesota, Tampa Bay, and the New York Jets and home against Atlanta) isn’t too tough. He said this is important because the Packers likely won’t have Micah Parsons for these games as he continues to recover from the ACL tear he suffered last season.
Like many Packers fans, Boomer has the Christmas game against the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field circled on his calendar.
Fans were generally impressed and happy with the schedule, especially appreciating the four out of five home games at the end of the season.
The Packers' schedule was officially released on Thursday evening at 7 p.m.
The Packers have four out of five games at home during the end of the season.
While the article primarily focused on fan reactions, local businesses typically express excitement due to increased customer traffic during the season.

“It doesn’t really matter what day we play them it’s going to be a bloodbath,” he said. “The Bears aren’t going to be as good as last year because they rely on turnovers and luck.”
Packers fans who spoke with Local 5 News on Thursday evening, said that the Lambeau Field showdowns against the Dallas Cowboys and Buffalo Bills and a rare Wednesday night matchup against the Los Angeles Rams on Thanksgiving Eve are other highlights of the schedule release.
The Packers have nine home games this season and no international games. That is huge for businesses in the Lambeau Field area like Stadium View that are at their busiest when the Packers are in town.
“We love having the home games, the international games are obviously really exciting too, but we love to have them (the games) right here in Green Bay,” Stadium View general manager Amber Wrona told Local 5 News. “The place to be for all Packers games is a home Packers game here at Stadium View.”
Wrona said the schedule really panned out this year as good as they could have hoped. She also pointed out that Wisconsin and Notre Dame will play at Lambeau Field on Sept. 6 which gives them another weekend with Packer-game level crowds.
She said Thanksgiving Eve is always a big bar day and they have special events already planned for that night. They’re hoping the Packers game against the Rams will bring even more folks out to Stadium View.
Schedule release day is always a busy day for the folks at Lodge Kohler. As soon as 7 p.m. rolled around and the Packers officially released their schedule, the phones began ringing off the hook with cheeseheads trying to book rooms for games.
“It’s busy but we’re ready for it, we look forward to it and we have the phone lines staffed,” the hotel’s spa manager Lindsey Hernandez told Local 5 News on Thursday.
She said that usually the rooms for the games against the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Detroit Lions, and the home opener sell out the quickest each year.
“Do it (book a room) now, but really just make sure you plan ahead, watch that schedule, it is true you want to call as soon as possible,” she said.
Some Packers fans who spoke with Local 5 News said that they were a bit upset when they found out that the gold package games this year are rivalry matchups against the Bears and Vikings.
The Packers have two games on Prime Video and two games on Netflix on their regular season schedule. Those in the Green Bay television market can still watch those games on television.
