IndyCar may have found mainstay with Grand Prix of Arlington returning in 2027: 'Bright future'
IndyCar's Grand Prix of Arlington is back on March 21, 2027!
Victor Wembanyama was ejected for a flagrant 2 foul but received no suspension or fine from the NBA. Fans expressed shock at the leniency shown towards the Spurs superstar.
If you needed any indication as to whom the NBA considers the face of the league, look no further than how it has handled Victor Wembanyama's ejection in Sunday's Game 4 loss to the Timberwolves. The Spurs superstar was assessed a flagrant 2 foul in the second quarter after he threw an intentional elbow at Naz Reid's face/neck area. Wembanyama was justifiably ejected for that elbow. And honestly, it was the kind of flagrant 2 offense that would normally run the risk of further discipline. The NBA saw it differently. Come Monday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that Wembanyama would face neither a suspension nor a fine following the ejection.
There will be no further discipline for Spurs star Victor Wembanyama after he was ejected for elbowing Naz Reid in Minnesota on Sunday night, sources tell ESPN. No suspension, no fine. Wembanyama will play in Game 5 against the Timberwolves on Tuesday night in San Antonio. pic.twitter.com/GOGCbIcbQP
— Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) May 11, 2026 No suspension is understandable given the situation. The NBA doesn't want to take a superstar off the court for a crucial playoff game. But not even a fine? We've seen players get fined for much less. It was the kind of soft treatment that had NBA fans awfully shocked. It screamed favoritism. No Suspension. No Fine. Wemby is in the clear.

The NBA decided not to impose any fines or suspensions on Wembanyama, likely to keep him available for crucial playoff games.
