Daniel Farke says his Leeds United side are proving the doubters wrong after securing a historic victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford.

Noah Okafor scored twice to give Leeds a 2-1 win at their rivals – their first league win at Old Trafford since 1981 to take them six points clear of the relegation zone.

“We work to get rid of this old narrative, Leeds are falling apart again, that we always crumble when it really counts,” Farke said after the victory.

“It feels like when it really matters, we deliver under pressure. Not just this season, but also last season in the crunch time and key periods.

“Nothing is achieved yet, I’m far away from being overconfident and celebrating already. I’m proud of this win and we take confidence from this but we don’t forget where we come from.

“In the Premier League things can change very quickly and you have to stay on it and for that I don’t want to celebrate too much. We have created something very historical.

“We can celebrate in the summer if we keep going like this but not before, because I’m pretty aware our momentum can change.”

Farke also hailed the performance of Okafor and says he has improved a lot this season.

“Noah has the x-factor that you don’t find that often in a promoted side,” he said. “He brings this to our game.

“What I like about him is also his attitude, his work against the ball is improving. It’s way better than the beginning of the season, his fitness level is way better and then if you do that, if you show this mentality, you work for the team, you can also shine on a personal level.”
