FC Barcelona to battle with Bayern Munich for Newcastle star Anthony Gordon

Anthony Gordon is a wanted man.

Bayern Munich has made their interest in the player very clear in the recent past, with talks already held with the player’s camp, and negotiations expected to commence with Newcastle United.

Now, it seems like the winger is drawing attention from other European heavyweights. Barcelona are also interested in Anthony Gordon, and have reportedly joined the race for his signature, according to Carlos Monfort (@monfortcarlos), as captured by @iMiaSanMia.

According to the report:

Now, while the report emphasizes that the deal will be a complicated one for Barcelona to pull off, him seen as a potential transfer option, and the sporting director having met with the player’s agents is suggestive of heavy interest for the winger. Whether the club would be able to shore up the funds needed to complete a signing of this magnitude remains unclear. However, Barcelona is a club that has always had tremendous pull, thanks in no small part due to its legacy and European heritage.
