The area's best weightlifters are making their annual pilgrimmage to the RP Funding Lake Center this week for the FHSAA state championship.
The 2A meet will be Wednesday, the 3A meet will be Thursday and the 1A meet will be Friday. Sixty-eight weightlifters from the area will be competing, with Pace bringing the most with 14.
The Patriots have set the standard statewide in recent years and are going for their third straight sweep of the 3A Olympic and traditional state titles. They already swept the District 1-3A titles on April 4 and the Region 1-3A titles on April 25.
