The 2025-26 season is in the books for the Philadelphia 76ers, which means it is the time to look back on the season that was for each player. The Sixers finished 45-37 and as the No. 7 seed for the Eastern Conference playoffs before upsetting the Boston Celtics in Round 1 and falling to the New York Knicks in Round 2. They had to battle through a tough season injury-wise, but there were some good moments for everybody on the roster.
Up next in this series is Tyrese Maxey. The 6-year guard had himself a helluva season as he was named an All-Star starter for the first time in his career and his second All-Star appearance overall. He played in 70 games and led the league in minutes at 38.0 per night as he was a constant for this group on a nightly basis for a team that desperately needed his ability to be available every night.
Here is a review of Maxey's 2025-26 season for the Sixers:

Maxey started the season with a bang as he scored 40 points and shot 7-for-9 from deep in an opening night win over the Boston Celtics. He scored a season-high 54 points in a Nov. 20 road win over the Milwaukee Bucks and threw the Sixers on his back on numerous occasions. There were some tough moments for him, especially in March when he injured the same right finger that bothered him in 2024-25, but he was able to persevere through a lot of adversity.
The playoffs were a bit up and down for him. He averaged 26.9 points and shot 41.8% from deep in the Round 1 win over the Boston Celtics, but then averaged only 18.3 points and shot 15.8% from deep in the Round 2 loss to the New York Knicks. Maxey admitted that his finger was bothering him and he explained the extent of the injury after the elimination as he has said it was an issue that will need to be fixed over the offseason, but it doesn't take away from the stellar season he had.
Maxey was a leader for this group both on the floor and in the locker room. He never complained about the heavy minutes he had to play, and instead trained and worked as hard as he could to prepare for those moments and make sure he was available and ready to lead the Sixers when the time called for it. The 2025-26 season will be remembered as one of his finest.
