Florida Gators star forward Alex Condon will return for the 2026-27 season instead of entering the NBA draft. Condon, a potential first-round pick, has started 70 games and earned multiple SEC honors during his college career.
Coach Todd Golden and the Florida Gators are getting a massive piece back for the 2026-27 season.
On Wednesday, ESPN's Shams Charania reported that star forward Alex Condon will return to Gainesville for his senior season. Condon was viewed as a potential first-round prospect and ranked No. 30 on ESPN's draft board.
Instead, he's running it back with the Gators and will likely be viewed as a first-round pick next season.
Condon has started 70 games for Florida over the past three seasons. He was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2024, and he was a Third Team All-SEC pick in each of the last two seasons.
A key piece on the Gators' national title-winning squad in 2025, Condon averaged a career-high 15.1 points this past season while matching his rebounding average from the prior season with 7.5. He scored at least 20 points in 10 different games, and he turned in eight double-doubles on the year.
Florida is still awaiting decisions from its other two starting bigs, Thomas Haugh and Rueben Chinyelu. However, it will return starting guard Boogie Fland and bring back guard Denzel Aberdeen, who transferred to Kentucky last offseason but will require a waiver to play a fifth season in Gainesville next year.
