Florida State baseball secured a series win against Clemson with a 6-3 victory, highlighted by two home runs. The Seminoles recorded 15 hits but left 15 runners on base during the game.
Florida State baseball blasted two more home runs to clinch the series over Clemson with a 6-3 win over the Tigers in the rubber match on Sunday, May 10, at Doug Kingsmore Stadium.
The No. 14 Seminoles' (36-15, 17-10 ACC) 15 hits were tied for the most in a game for the program since they lost Myles Bailey for the season against Duke. Despite the hits, FSU left runs on the table with 15 runners left on base, which kept the Tigers in the game and out of potential run-rule territory.
John Stuetzer went 3-for-5 with two RBI, Nathan Cmeyla and Carter McCulley both hit home runs and finished the game with multiple hits, and Brody DeLamielleure extended his hit streak to 14 games by going 3-for-6 with an RBI. FSU hit six home runs in the series and has hit eight total in the week, counting the midweek win over Jacksonville.
The Seminoles got six strong innings out of starter Bryson Moore, who allowed one run on five hits and struck out four on 75 total pitches. He generated soft contact, and the lone run he allowed came after a fielding error on a sacrifice bunt attempt from Jack Crighton that allowed Jarren Purify to score in the fifth inning.
Cmeyla hit a home run off the right field foul pole in the second inning to get the scoring started. McCulley added an RBI single, and Stuetzer hit a sacrifice fly to push FSU ahead 3-0 after two innings. McCulley picked up his second RBI of the game with a two-out solo home run in the fourth inning to put the Seminoles ahead 4-0.
Clemson scored on the error forced from the bunt in the fifth inning, but Stuetzer got the run back for the Seminoles with an RBI single in the sixth. The Tigers took advantage of another error, this time from Ben Barrett, who couldn't locate a two-out fly ball in the infield, which dropped and allowed a run to score rather than end the inning.
DeLamielleure knocked an RBI single to bring home Stuetzer after a lead-off double in the eighth inning, which was equalled out by an RBI single from Purify in the home half of the eighth inning to make it 6-3 Seminoles.

Despite the 15 runners left on base, the Seminoles pitching staff, anchored by Moore and strong bullpen outings from Cooper Whithed (1.2 innings, two hits, two runs, two strikeouts) and Brodie Purcell (1.1 innings, no hits or runs, three strikeouts), kept the Tigers at bay.
