Phil Foden says his sole focus is on trying to help City in any way he can as the Blues gear up for a defining final week of the 2025/26 campaign.
It has been a season of highs and lows for the England international with his game time somewhat restricted since the New Year.
However, a fine impact from the bench against Brentford in last weekend’s 3-0 Premier League win was then followed on Wednesday night by a superb display as City beat Crystal Palace by an identical scoreline at the Etihad.
A sublime back-heeled assist for Antoine Semenyo’s first half opener also made it 100 Premier League goal involvements for the Academy graduate.
And reflecting on the season – and his own personal fortunes – Foden said his key priority was in ensuring he was available to help the side in any way he can.
“Two different sides. The first half of the season really good, the second-half a little bit less, it happens to a lot of footballers,” Foden reflected.
“You’ve got to keep going, keep believing in yourself.

“I’m a team player, I try and help the team as much as I can and I’m always ready to try and help them, whenever I get the opportunity.
“It takes everyone to win titles, on Wednesday I got the opportunity to play, and I was just happy to help the team.
“That’s what it’s about, sticking together and having each other’s backs. Sometimes it happens, everyone’s human.
“We’ve got fantastic players in the team who are ready to play, [I] just had to remain patient and keep working hard in training.”
Foden and his colleagues are now preparing for a huge final eight days of the season.
Pep Guardiola’s side take on Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday afternoon.
That’s then followed by the final two Premier League games of the season – away to Bournemouth on Tuesday before the finale at home to Aston Villa a week on Sunday.
City are currently two points behind leaders Arsenal.
But Foden says he has already seen enough throughout his illustrious career to know anything is still possible.
“There are no easy games in Premier League,” the midfielder pointed out.
“Look at the bottom half now, it’s improved over the season, so you just never know.
“It’s just about trying to win our games, do our bit and see what happens. You just never know, every game is so demanding and difficult for different reasons.
“We’ve seen so many twists recently in the title race and it can easily happen again, we just have to keep doing our bit, focus on ourselves and see where it takes us.
“Anything can happen, there’s still a chance, we have to keep believing.
“Keep trying to do our job, don’t think too much, just play our football, play our game.
“Anything can happen in football, we’ve seen it before, it’s exciting.
“We’ve still got an FA Cup to win, so still a lot to play for.”
