Macey Huard, daughter of former UW QB Brock Huard, transfers to the University of Washington to play women's basketball, marking a historic first for the program. She previously played at Oklahoma State and is set to join her mother, Molly Hills, at UW for the 2026-27 season.

For the first time in Washington women's basketball program history, a mother and daughter will suit up for the same school when Macey Huard takes the court for the 2026-27 season.
A transfer from Oklahoma State, who announced her move to her parents' alma mater on April 10, Huard is the daughter of ex-Husky guard Molly Hills and former UW football quarterback Brock Huard. The two raised Macey in Colorado, where she graduated from Valor Christian High School with 1,619 points and set the school's single-game 3-pointers made record with nine.
Her mother made 89 total appearances with the Huskies from 1995-99 and averaged 3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, leading the team in 3-point shooting percentage as a junior when she finished with a career-high 8.8 points and 5 rebounds per game.
Following her transfer from Stillwater to Seattle earlier this month, Brock sat down with KING-TV's Chris Egan to discuss the move.
"They'll be the first mother-daughter in program history to play (at the same school)," Huard said. "Which is pretty cool. You've seen (on) the football side of it do that (Sam Huard playing at UW after his father, Damon Huard, played quarterback at the university from 1992-95). But for them kind of be able to say 'we'll be the first' (is different)."
Macey announced on March 25 after two seasons at Oklahoma State that she would be entering the transfer portal with two years of eligibility remaining. She missed the 2025-26 season due to an injury and made three starts (31 total appearances) the previous season after transferring to the Big 12 school after one year at Montana.
On the court, the younger Huard finished fourth on the Cowgirls, shooting 32.3 percent from behind the 3-point arc and first from the free throw line at 83.9.
Coveted by several other schools and separate from her family's legacy in purple and gold, Macey made her first transfer official visit to UW. The combination of Tina Langley's rise since taking over the program and the resources available made it hard to say no.
"Most importantly, she visited and same thing—culture, ecosystem. Holy smokes," Brock said. "It was her first visit in the portal, and she's like, 'I don't need to go anywhere else. This is what I want.' Like Tina Langley, this staff, these resources, these people—it's exactly what I want."
Three decades after her mother took the court at UW under the late June Daugherty, another Huard is back in purple and gold, aiming to get Langley's team further than the second round of the NCAA Tournament when the Huskies take the court later this fall.
Macey Huard's transfer is significant as it marks the first time in Washington women's basketball history that a mother and daughter will play for the same school.
Macey Huard's parents are Brock Huard, a former UW football quarterback, and Molly Hills, a former UW women's basketball player.
In high school, Macey Huard scored 1,619 points and set a record for the most 3-pointers made in a single game with nine.

"Really cool, honestly, to come full circle," Brock added. "We started the show with the people around you. That's what it is. She's going to have AAU coaches, players, and past teammates—just the people that will get to reconnect with by her making that step. I'm pretty excited for that."
