It hasn’t been an easy road in the NFL for former Notre Dame star wide receiver Chase Claypool, but he’s getting another shot at making an NFL roster.

The 2020 second round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers never made the impact that many expected following his high draft selection following a very impressive rookie season. It looked like he was on the verge of stardom after 62-receptions for 873-yards and 9 touchdowns, but could never replicate his first-year success.

He’d play for the Steelers for three years, then was traded to the Chicago Bears in 2022 where he played for two seasons before going to the Miami Dolphins in 2023. That would be the last time he was on an active roster, but that could be changing soon.

Claypool was spotted at the Green Bay Packers rookie camp on Friday, a sign that they are considering signing him to a contract. The tryout to day will hopefully show that he still has some gas in the tank, and hopefully can continue his NFL career.
