Terrance Green, a former Oregon defensive lineman, has transferred to Alabama after limited playing time. He is expected to make a significant impact during spring practices as one of the most notable transfers for the 2026 season.
As a four-star prospect and the No. 30 defensive lineman in the 2023 class, Terrance Green began his Oregon Ducks tenure with high expectations. However, that was no different than a bevy of other players along the Ducks' defensive line, which was stacked with fellow blue-chippers.
After three seasons, recording just 22 tackles and peaking in a rotational role in 2025, Green, along with nearly ten other defensive linemen, decided to seek more opportunities elsewhere. All four starters were returning for Oregon, which would've pitted Green as a backup for his fourth season.
After spending time in the transfer portal, the 6-foot-5, 330-pounder committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide, another team coming off a College Football Playoff appearance thanks to a talented and deep roster. But that's not stopping Green from making an early impact during spring practices, as he comes in at No. 7 on CBS Sports' list of the most impactful transfers for the 2026 season.
"Alabama needed size and power in the middle of its defense after the loss of Tim Keenan, and this transfer from Oregon is an ideal fit," Brad Crawford wrote. "With the Ducks bringing back every starter at the point of attack, Green looked for another option where snaps would not be limited, and he could potentially start. Joining him with the Crimson Tide is former Mississippi State nose tackle Kedrick Bingley-Jones. At 6-foot-5, 330 pounds, Green is one of the SEC's biggest threats against the run."
Stopping the run was exactly what Green excelled at with the Ducks, primarily being inserted into the lineup when defensive tackles A'Mauri Washington or Bear Alexander needed a breather or when the opposition was in an obvious run situation.

However, Green did show some ability to affect the pass game in his limited reps, recording a sack and a pass deflection in 2024. But where he'll make his hay is against the run, aiding a Crimson Tide unit that allowed 126.9 rushing yards per game a season ago.
Green is among a number of former Duck defensive linemen with lofty expectations, with the most notable being himself and Notre Dame's Tionne Gray. With more opportunities coming their way, it'll be interesting to keep an eye on the former Ducks and see how much of an impact they can have with their new programs this fall.
