Former Real Madrid manager would love to return to Bernabeu amid Liverpool links – report

The managerial situation at Real Madrid has become a major talking point. While Alvaro Arbeloa still holds the rein, the club are actively looking for a replacement.

Former Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has emerged as a potential candidate to return to Santiago Bernabeu and steady the ship.

However, one former Real Madrid manager who is certainly not going to come back to the club anytime soon is Xabi Alonso.

Xabi Alonso open to Real Madrid return

According to Defensa Central, Xabi Alonso still holds a desire to return under the right circumstances.

However, Florentino Perez does not currently foresee a return for Alonso during his presidency. The president was reportedly left “very disappointed” with how the Spaniard’s tenure ended in January 2026.
