LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) â Former Kentucky forward Mouhamed Dioubate has found his next school, and itâs in the Southeastern Conference.
The 6-foot-7 power forward from Queens, New York, committed to LSU on Monday. Dioubate is no stranger to life in the SEC. Before his lone season in Lexington, he spent two years playing under coach Nate Oats at Alabama.
After starting for the Wildcats at the beginning of the season, Mo lost his spot to Andrija Jelavic but was still able to carve out a role for himself late in the season by coming up with clutch rebounds and playing tough defense. He averaged 8.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1 assist in 21.6 minutes per game in his junior campaign.
âI would like to thank Coach Pope, the rest of the coaching staff, all the supporting staff, and the University of Kentucky as a whole for extending me the opportunity to be a part and take on the journey we embarked throughout the season,â Dioubate said. âThanks to everyone that showed me love & support during my time here. All love and nothing but love.â
He will have one year of eligibility remaining.
