New Florida State Seminoles running backs coach Kam Martin has gotten plenty of talented players to campus for visits, and now he is working to secure a commitment for FSU's 2027 recruiting class. One of their key targets is Gary Walker, a four-star prospect from Fairburn, Georgia.
Walker was in Tallahassee on March 30 for a visit, his second of the year, and the Seminoles are among his top schools. He is set to return on June 19 for an official visit, and he recently told On3's Chad Simmons why he is so interested in them.
“It’s a great city, great school… overall a great place to be at,” Walker said. “I like the energy down there and just how the coaches treat me.”
He is ranked as the No. 158 overall player and No. 8 running back in the Rivlas industry ranking. He is also the No. 17 player from Georgia.
FSU has plenty of competetion for Walker, who will also take official visits to see the Stanford Cardinal, Clemson Tigers, Virginia Tech Hokies, and Penn State Nittany Lions. The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder is not ready to set a commitment timeline.
Walker had a breakout junior season at Creekside High School, helping lead them to a state championship. He finished the year with 178 carries for 1,669 yards and 20 touchdowns in 14 games. He averaged 9.4 yards per carry and 119.2 yards per game.
