Frankfort defeated Southern 12-1, led by Jaxon Hare's strong pitching and 13 hits from the offense. Blake Jacobs contributed with three hits, while Lanson Orndorf and Gunnar Bradshaw also had notable performances.
OAKLAND — Frankfort's Jaxon Hare went the distance, and got 13 hits from his offense in a 12-1 win at Southern on Monday.
Hare allowed one run on three hits and two walks with six strikeouts for the Falcons (15-6).
Blake Jacobs (Charleston signee) went 3 for 5 with a stolen base.
Lanson Orndorf (Charleston signee), Gunnar Bradshaw and Cole Shanholtz each had a pair of hits.
Bradshaw drove in four runs while Orndorf added two.
Cade Leader had two of the three hits for the Rams (8-10).
Ryan Bird was charged with three earned runs in the first inning.
Southern hosts Mountain Ridge (5-14) in the West Region I quarterfinals on Thursday.
Frankfort hosts Hedgesville on Thursday at 7 p.m.
No. 5 East Hardy 15, No. 3 Northern 12
BAKER, W.Va. — Both offenses came to play, but East Hardy out-hit Northern 20-15 in a high-scoring win on Monday.
The Cougars (14-6) scored a touchdown with seven runs in the fourth inning.
Mason Hamilton finished 5 for 5 with seven RBIs and three stolen bases.
He was a home run shy of the cycle with three singles, a double and a triple.
Evan Hamilton and Shayne Sisler each had three hits while Levi Price, Gage Dove, Mason Wilkins and Patrick Mills had two.
Dove and Wilkins each hit solo home runs in the third inning.
Hunter Livengood led the Huskies (13-6), going 4 for 4 with five RBIs.
Livengood drove a two-run tater to left in the seventh.
Caleb Hinebaugh and Elliott Meyers-Shirer also cleared the fence.
Meyers-Shirer's was a three-run blast in the top of the third.
Hinebaugh sent a solo shot in the top of the fifth.
Jacob Chambers had three hits while Hinebaugh and Gavin Maust each had two.
Northern is the top seed in the West Region I playoffs and hosts the winner of Southern (8-10) and Mountain Ridge (5-14) in the semifinals on Saturday.
East Hardy hosts Washington on Tuesday before heading to Clarke County on Thursday at 5 p.m.
Keyser 6, Fort Hill 5
KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser trailed 5-0 midway through the third before completing a comeback win over Fort Hill on Monday.
The Golden Tornado (9-12) scored four runs in the third and took the lead with two in the fifth.
In the third, Landon Tysinger hit a two-run double before Wes Hahn added a two-run single.
Cole Holland tied the score at 5 in the fifth on a triple before Tysinger's single scored the eventual winning run.
The Sentinels (9-9-1) led 3-0 after one on a Coye Resh single, wild pitch and sacrifice fly.
Lucas Williamson, Holland and Tysinger each recorded two hits for Keyser.
Tysinger drove in three runs and went 4 1/3 frames, allowing four earned runs with four strikeouts.
Frankfort won the game against Southern with a final score of 12-1.
Jaxon Hare was the standout player, pitching the entire game and allowing only one run.
Frankfort's offense recorded a total of 13 hits during the game.
Blake Jacobs went 3 for 5 at the plate and also stole a base.

Colt Resh led Fort Hill with three hits while Bobby Brauer and Coye Resh added a pair.
Brauer was charged with six earned runs in six innings of work.

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Payton Metheny tossed a no-hitter, leading Petersburg over Pendleton County on Monday.
Metheny walked one and struck out 12 for the Vikings (8-14).
He went 3 for 4 with a triple and stolen base at the dish.
Lukas Wolford was one of Petersburg's five other batters with a hit and added two stolen bases.
The Vikings host Elkins Tuesday before heading to No. 2 Hampshire (12-7) on Thursday at 6 p.m.
Lighthouse 9, Cumberland Valley 7
POTOMAC PARK — Trailing 7-1 after four, Cumberland Valley got within 7-5, but Lighthouse added key insurance runs in the sixth for a win on Monday at the Hammer Complex.
Leading 7-5 in the bottom of the sixth, Eli Ziler singled to short, scoring a run on an error.
Another error by the catcher stretched the Seahawks (4-7) lead to 9-5.
Cumberland Valley scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but left runners on the corners to end the game.
Jake Zewatsky, Ziler and Ryder Rapson each had a pair of hits for Lighthouse.
The Seahawks play a doubleheader at Turkeyfoot on Tuesday, followed by a trip to Paw Paw (1-8) on Friday at 5 p.m.
