Florida State Seminoles are among the top four schools for 2027 defensive lineman Wesley Gover, who will begin his official visits with FSU on May 29. Gover also plans visits to Kentucky, Purdue, and Baylor in June.

The Florida State Seminoles had 2027 three-star defensive lineman Wesley Gover on campus for one of their Junior Day weekends in January, and he left with a scholarship offer. He returned in March for another trip, and now his next visit has been set.
Gover will kick off his official visit tour in Tallahassee with FSU on May 29. His other visits will be to see the Kentucky Wildcats on June 5, Purdue Boilermakers on June 12, and the Baylor Bears on June 19. The 6-foot-2, 285-pounder also named these programs as his top four schools.
The Thompson High School standout broke down what makes Florida State so appealing.
"They're the closest and they were my first big offer, so they were the first team to take a chance on me," Gover said. "That's a big thing. So yeah, them taking a chance on me is a big, big thing towards why I made an OV to them," per Noles247's Brendan Sonnone.
The 247Sports composite rankings have listed Gover as the No. 733 overall player and the nation's No. 83 defensive lineman. He’s ranked as the No. 27 prospect in Alabama, also.
It was a significant leap in production for Gover in 2025, when he registered 65 total tackles, which was 28 more than his sophomore season. He also added 10 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and six quarterback hurries.
Florida State could use some more talent on the defensive in the 2027 recruiting class to add to four-star edge Anthony Cavallaro.
