TL;DR
FSU's new running backs coach Kam Martin is targeting several top recruits, including four-star running back Brayden Tyson, who considers FSU one of his top two schools. Tyson, ranked No. 336 overall, appreciates FSU's potential for his development both on and off the field.
New FSU running backs coach Kam Martin has the Seminoles in the mix for several top targets, but he is still looking for his first commitment since joining the coaching staff this offseason. One of his top targets is Brayden Tyson, a four-star running back who has been a frequent visitor to Tallahassee.
He was back on campus Monday to watch another spring practice and discussed his recruitment with Chris Nee of Noles247. He revealed that FSU is one of the top two schools in his recruitment.
"They sit very high," Tyson said. "I just like the place. I feel like they can develop me, not just as a football player but as a young man as well."
"I would say South Carolina and Florida State," Tyson said of the leaders in his recruitment. "I've been there a lot. Been there more than once. I feel like they develop running backs pretty well."
Tyson is ranked as the No. 336 overall player and No. 16 athlete in the 247Sports composite. The Snellville product is also the No. 39 player from Georgia
It was Tyson's third visit to FSU this year, he attended a Junior Day and another spring practice in March. He is set to return for an official visit on June 12. He will also take official visits to see the South Carolina Gamecocks (May 1), Rutgers Scarlet Knights (May 29), Miami Hurricanes (June 5), and Purdue Boilermakers (June 19).
He had a strong junior season at Brockwood High School, rushing for 1,292 yards and 16 touchdowns on 163 carries. While it was a great performance, it had nothing on his sophomore campaign. He finished his breakout season with 2,123 yards and 26 touchdowns, averaging 10.2 yards per carry.
