Georgia (38-11, 18-6 SEC) has won six straight games and has only lost one SEC series all season. The Bulldogs are ranked No. 5 in the latest USA TODAY Sports baseball coaches poll. Georgia is in the driver's seat to win the SEC with just two series remaining in the regular season. Georgia has a 2 1/2-game lead over Texas and Texas A&M to lead the SEC.
Georgia has the best power offense in college baseball and is trying to match that with strong pitching performances.
"I've coached this game a long time, and this may be the staff that has thrown the most strikes ever in the bullpen, and then it wasn't converting to the game," Georgia baseball manager Wes Johnson said after the Bulldogs swept Missouri. "You can't keep saying it is obviously the same thing over and over. You're going to get a different result. We had to go to some visualization and do some different stuff to get guys to believe in themselves when they get right out there as opposed to just being a bullpen All-American."
Next up, Georgia faces the LSU Tigers at home and then hits the road to play the No. 6 Auburn Tigers as the Bulldogs are looking to win the SEC during the regular season and host a regional and a super regional in the NCAA Tournament.
