The 6-11 San Francisco Giants, tied with the Colorado Rockies at the bottom of Major League Baseball's standings, are in some trouble.
And things are not getting much better, as the Giants made four roster moves on Wednesday afternoon, including some tough news on one key player.
As the Giants announced on Wednesday, they are placing Harrison Bader on the injured list with a left hamstring strain, along with fellow outfielder Jared Oliva, while calling up two replacement outfielders to take their MLB roster spots.
"SFGiants Roster Moves: OF Jared Oliva placed on the 10-day injured list with left wrist hamate fracture. OF Harrison Bader placed on 10-day injured list (retro to April 12) with a left hamstring strain. OF Will Brennan (#7) recalled from Triple-A Sacramento. OF Drew Gilbert (#0) recalled from Triple-A Sacramento."
These four roster moves come amid the Giants' three-game losing streak against the Baltimore Orioles and Cincinnati Reds.
It's been a bit of a struggle for the Giants this season, and losing Bader is one of the toughest blows for this team. While he was hitting just .115 with a .337 OPS, he was someone the Giants needed to produce in the outfield this season.
But, just like the Giants as a whole, he's struggled a lot this season. Add in Olivia, who was hitting .143 with a .143 OPS in seven at-bats this season, and the Giants are losing a pair of outfielders who haven't produced much for the Giants this season.

Replacing them are Drew Gilbert and Will Brennan. This season in the minors, Gilbert is hitting .289 with a .789 OPS. He's a .190 hitter in the Major League over 100 at-bats, so hopefully he will turn things around during this stint with the Giants.
Meanwhile, Brennan has a .267 batting average during his MLB career, all with the Cleveland Guardians. In the minor leagues, he's hitting .392 with a .938 OPS.
If the Giants can get some of that production from Gilbert and Brennan in the Majors, they might finally get some quality offense from their outfield.
This roster move announcement is some bad news for Bader, as he's landing on the injured list. Gilbert and Brennan will get the chance to replace him in the offense, which shouldn't be too hard considering how much Bader has struggled this year.
Harrison Bader has been placed on the injured list due to a left hamstring strain, but the specific severity of the injury has not been detailed.
The Giants have called up two replacement outfielders, although their names are not specified in the announcement.
Bader's injury adds to the challenges faced by the Giants, who are already struggling at the bottom of the MLB standings.
