The San Francisco Giants announced a series of roster moves on Monday prior to their matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers, making several changes to both their everyday core and bullpen depth.
The club optioned catcher Logan Porter and right-handed pitcher Dylan Smith to Triple-A Sacramento. In corresponding moves, the Giants recalled right-hander Tristan Beck from Sacramento while reinstating outfielder Harrison Bader from the 10-day Injured List after his six-game rehab stint in Sacramento.
Bader returns after missing time with lingering left hamstring issues that had reportedly bothered him dating back to Spring Training.
The veteran outfielder has appeared in 15 games for San Francisco this season, struggling offensively through his first stretch with the club. Across 55 plate appearances, Bader has posted a .115 batting average with a .145 on-base percentage and a .338 OPS.
Despite the offensive struggles, Bader has still provided value defensively. His return gives the Giants another experienced option in center field, an area where the club has searched for consistency defensively throughout the season.
The Giants are also bringing back Beck, who opened the season at Triple-A Sacramento. The right-hander has had a difficult start statistically, posting a 5.40 ERA across 13 appearances and 16 2/3 innings at the Triple-A level this season.
Beck, however, has previously shown he can provide valuable innings at the major-league level.
During the 2025 season, Beck appeared in 31 games for San Francisco, recording a 4.61 ERA across 56 2/3 innings. With the Giants currently featuring one of the stronger bullpens in the National League, Beck’s promotion appears to provide additional depth and flexibility for the pitching staff.

Porter’s stint with the major-league club was brief after being recalled on May 9. His promotion largely served as a depth move following Logan Webb being placed on the 15-day Injured List with right knee bursitis.
Smith also saw limited action during his time with San Francisco. The right-hander appeared in just one game, tossing 2/3 of an inning before being sent back to Sacramento as the Giants continue adjusting their roster ahead of a crucial divisional series against the Dodgers.
