The New York State Sportswriters Association announced the large school all-state teams for the 2025–26 high school girls basketball season, featuring 14 players from Section V. Notable selections include Emerson Wandtke from Our Lady of Mercy as the only first-team player.
Another final bow has been put on the 2025–26 high school girls basketball season.
The New York State Sportswriters Association released this season's large school all-state teams on Monday. The list, which encompasses schools in Class AAA, AA and A, includes 14 players from Section V (not including several others that were included among the honorable mentions).
Aquinas (Class AAA champion), Our Lady of Mercy (Class A champion), Pittsford Sutherland (Class AA-2 runner-up), Webster Schroeder (Class AA-1 champion) led the way with two selections apiece.
Mercy's Emerson Wandtke is the only first-team selection so far. The freshman center was also an All-Greater Rochester first-teamer and the MVP of the Class A section tournament.
