Grant Scott previews trip to face Rangers
Having entered the middle of May, we are now well and truly in the closing stages of the campaign.
With just two league fixtures and a Scottish Cup final remaining, the Ghirls will be aiming to round off the season in the strongest possible way.
And with just three games left of the season, next up for Grant Scott’s side is a trip to face Rangers in the penultimate league fixture of the campaign.
Speaking to Celtic TV ahead of the match, Scott insisted his squad have been working hard on the training pitch as they aim to bounce back from last weekend’s 2-1 defeat to league leaders Hearts.
The Celtic boss also gave an injury update, confirming that Maria McAneny will miss the remaining games of the season, after undergoing surgery on an injury knock.
He said: “It’s been good work from the girls this week. I think that’s a number of weeks now consecutively that they have applied themselves well.
‘So, we are in good shape, looking fit and well. We will be prepared fully going into it.’
“In terms of the squad, we are all well and good. Maria McAneny is the only one to update on.
“That will her be out now for the remainder of the season. She has had minor surgery, but she is back home and recovering.
“So, it’s a bit of bad news on that front, but everyone else should be good to go.”
Going into those final three games, the Hoops know they will be facing off against Rangers in two of those three matches.
However, for Grant Scott and his side, the two very much remain separate, with focus on one game at a time as they look to round off the league campaign in a positive manner.
Heading into the game, Scott knows it will be another tough match up in the split but is also confident in his side’s ability as they look to pick up three points.
“Rangers have a lot to play for and are in decent form,” he said. “Right now, they’ve got a knack for winning games, which we haven’t been able to build up as consistently this year so far.
The match is crucial as it is one of the final two league fixtures of the season, impacting their overall performance.
There are three games left in the season, including two league fixtures and a Scottish Cup final.
The match is scheduled as the penultimate league fixture of the campaign, taking place in the middle of May.

“So, it will be a tough opponent and a tough game. But it’s one that we are more that capable of matching.
‘There is no issue on that from me. It’s two good teams going at it, so it should be a good game.’
“We are focused on one game at a time, we will prepare equally as well for every single game as we can and look to win the match.”
