The Green Bay Packers are considering adding former Pro Bowl players Jadeveon Clowney and Joey Bosa to enhance their playoff roster. This move could be crucial for the team's Super Bowl aspirations.
The Green Bay Packers always feel like they’re capable of competing for a playoff spot. Considering they’ve snatched a playoff spot in six out of Matt LaFleur’s seven seasons as head coach, the Packers are right to feel that way.
Yet, for whatever reason, the Packers have never been able to get over the hump and compete for a Super Bowl. The last time the Lombardi Trophy was within grasp came back in 2010, when Mike McCarthy led the franchise to their fourth Super Bowl win.
Is this the year that changes? To do so, the Packers will have to be nearly perfect, which will require contributions from all 53 players on the roster, and then some.
While the Packers may already have a playoff roster, Sports Illustrated‘s Eva Geitheim recently stated her case for why Green Bay should still add an impact rotational edge rusher in free agency. Her advice is for the Packers to target a pair of former Pro Bowl pass rushers, Jadeveon Clowney or Joey Bosa.
“The Packers have one of the best edge rushers in Micah Parsons, but the position group is thin after him, even with Green Bay picking up Lukas Van Ness’s fifth-year option. With it unclear when Parsons will be back from his torn ACL, it would make sense for the Packers to bring in another edge such as Joey Bosa or Jadeveon Clowney. “

Even though he’s reportedly , Parsons is working his way back from a major injury. Having some contingency plans in place is never a bad idea, especially for a top contender who’s often been bitten hard by the injury bug.
Jadeveon Clowney could significantly boost the Packers' pass rush, adding experience and skill to their defensive lineup.
The Packers aim to strengthen their playoff roster and improve their chances of competing for a Super Bowl, which has eluded them since 2010.
Joey Bosa is a two-time Pro Bowl selection known for his exceptional pass-rushing ability and impact on the field.

Clowney turned 33 in February, but the former No. 1 overall pick has still been productive. Last season, he recorded 8.5 sacks with the Cowboys. Bosa, 30, is a five-time Pro Bowler who has recorded at least five sacks in each of the past three seasons. Both would provide Green Bay with more pass-rushing juice.
