IndyCar may have found mainstay with Grand Prix of Arlington returning in 2027: 'Bright future'
IndyCar's Grand Prix of Arlington is back on March 21, 2027!

Hawaii's men's volleyball team faces UC Irvine in the NCAA Championship today at 1 p.m. This match is a rematch of a Big West rivalry, with Hawaii aiming for its third national title this decade.
LOS ANGELES â The Hawaii menâs volleyball team needed to overcome its most heated Big West rivalry to advance to the national final.
Now the âBows need to take care of a more friendly, yet still extremely tough, conference rival to finish off a third national championship this decade.
The second-seeded and Big West runner-up âBows (29-5) will face the third-best team from their conference this season, UC Irvine (21-8), at 1 p.m. today for the right to host the national championship trophy at Pauley Pavilion.
UH, which is officially recognized as a two-time national champion in 2021 and â22 after having its â03 title vacated, is in the final for the fifth time in the last seven seasons.
UC Irvine has won four national titles, including its last in 2013, when current head coach David Kniffin took over for Jon Spreraw.
The relationship between Kniffin and Hawaii head coach Charlie Wade dates back to well before Kniffin was put in charge of the Anteaters program.
âHe was our interpreter when we went to Argentina back in 2007 when I was the coach of Pacific on the womenâs side,â Wade said during Sundayâs NCAA press conference. âWe talk pretty regularly throughout the season and obviously they are one of the top teams. Every time weâre battling, theyâre not quite the same level that we have been with Long Beach, but certainly some highly contested matches and always competitive.â
The âBows, who beat UC Irvine in both regular-season matches in conference play, are in the final after knocking off Long Beach State in four sets on Saturday.
A rowdy crowd witnessed the Rainbow Warriors, who clearly were extra motivated after LBSU freshman Wojciech Gajek did a shakas down gesture during the Beachâs win over the âBows in the Big West tournament final, beat Long Beach for the third time this season.
The motivation to win remains the same, but it comes from a different place than from what UH called âpersonalâ in defending the culture of its own home state.
âIâd say there is definitely a little difference in (the rivalries),â Hawaii sophomore opposite hitter Kainoa Wade said Sunday. âIrvine is a little on the nicer side. Long Beach State rattled some cages the last time we played them. Obviously it doesnât matter who we are playing on the other side of the court, weâre going to give it our all all the time. It doesnât matter if itâs shakas up or shakas down, itâs go time.â
Hawaiiâs appearance in the national final shouldnât be a surprise. It has advanced to the championship match each of the last three times the tournament has been held in Los Angeles and is one victory away from a setting a program record with its first 30-win season.
The Anteaters, who lost to the Beach in three sets in the Big West semifinals, is a surprise. UCI pulled off five-set wins over Penn State and No. 1 seed and host UCLA last week in Pauley Pavilion. They the Anteaters defeated No. 4 seed Ball State in four sets on Saturday to give them consecutive victories over champions from the EIVA, MPSF and MIVA conferences.
The match starts at 1 p.m. today.
Hawaii has won two national championships, officially recognized in 2021 and 2022.
UC Irvine last won a national championship in 2013.
Hawaii's men's volleyball team has a record of 29-5 this season.

âI donât think weâre outworking everybody. I donât think the quality of our practice gym is better than anyone elseâs,â Kniffin said Sunday. âBut the path we have carved out has been uniquely designed for us and this team has bought into that. I think thereâs a lot unique about how we do it and our best Irvine teams over the decades have been the teams who own kind of who they are.â
UC Irvine has increased its play with the help of 6-foot-6 outside hitter Andreas Brinck, from Vaerloese, Denmark, who was inserted into the starting lineup last month.
Brinck, who has appeared in 19 of 29 matches this season, had his first double-figures kill total with 13 in UC Irvineâs opening-round win over Cal State Northridge in the Big West tournament.
He went off for a career-high 17 kills and hit .483 in UCIâs upset of No. 1 seed UCLA and had 13 kills and tied a career high with three blocks in the win over Ball State.
âWe better be ready to play,â Charlie Wade said. âAdding Brinck to the lineup has really rounded them out and they are playing a lot better than when we played them in March.â
Hawaii had also defeated Long Beach State twice in the regular season before losing in the conference tournament.
UH practiced for about 60 of the 90 minutes allotted to them inside of Pauley Pavilion on Sunday and kept practice light.
Wade started practice telling any of his players who got significant jumps in the match against the Beach the night earlier to take it easy.
âJust trying to keep the routine the same,â Wade said. âSome of the variables here are out of our control, but we still try to keep the same proximity on how the day unfolds. Enjoying a little lighter day today and then get back to the gameday routine tomorrow.â
Hawaii and UC Irvine have never played in the NCAA Tournament.
The âBows have won 21 of the last 23 meetings dating back to 2018. UC Irvine won twice against Hawaii in 2024, including in the Big West tournament semifinals at Stan Sheriff Center, ending UHâs season Itâs the only time Hawaii failed to reach the NCAA Tournament since 2018.
