Adrian Peterson Jr., the 14-year-old son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Adrian Peterson, announced on social media that he had received an offer from Miami.
Peterson is a member of the 2030 class, meaning he is entering his freshman year of high school. He also has offers from Baylor and Missouri State. Peterson plays wide receiver, running back and defensive back.
Peterson, an unrated prospect, is 6-1 and 175 pounds. He will play for Ridge Point High in Missouri City, Texas. Peterson also plays baseball and runs track, reportedly running a 10.7 in the 100 meter and a 22.07 in the 200 meter.
The elder Peterson had a stellar college and NFL career. He was an All-American at Oklahoma, rushing for 4,041 yards and 41 touchdowns in three seasons. As a freshman, he ran for 1,925 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Peterson was the seventh pick in the 2007 draft, going to the Minnesota Vikings. With the Vikings, he blossomed into a superstar. He ran for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first four seasons. In his sixth season, Peterson rushed for a career high 2,097 yards and was named the NFL MVP and NFL Offensive Player of the Year.
Peterson also played for the New Orleans Saints, Arizona Cardinals, Washington Commanders, Detroit Lions, Tennessee Titans and Seattle Seahawks. He was a four-time first-team NFL All-Pro and a seven-time Pro Bowl player. Peterson led the league in rushing yards three times and rushing touchdowns twice.
Peterson finished his career with 14,198 rushing yards and 120 touchdowns. Peterson has the fifth-most rushing yards in NFL history and the fifth-most rushing touchdowns. He was voted into the Hall of Fame in February.
